GI Jams!
Big Blend Radio interview with hit songwriters, producers, artists and co-founders of GI Jams, Denny Randell and Biddy Schippers.

Well-known songwriters Denny Randell and Biddy Schippers are supporting and bringing the musical talent of hundreds of Veterans and active duty soldiers, Marines, sailors, airmen and National Guard members to the forefront via their cleverly titled project and website GIJams.com.

GI Jams®, is a multi-media project and social music network that spotlights and promotes the original songs and performances of U.S. servicemen and women of all military branches, ranks and rates. The project’s web site GIJams.com provides the opportunity for military musicians to sign up and have their own profile pages featuring their original music, bios, pictures and blogs plus, downloads available for 99 cents a song with all profits going to those specific military artists.

The GIJams.com community has grown significantly since its start, as hundreds of military artists and writers have now joined, as well as the many of the artists’ fans and supporters. And now GI Jams has released GI Jams, Vol. 1: The Original Music Of Our Military Artists, the first in a series of compilation albums to be issued by GI Jams Records™. The CD is available for sale online at the GI Jams Store, by direct artists’ sales, as well as nationally distributed at selected retail locations. All profits from sales of this compilation album go to the artists featured on the album.

GI Jams, Vol. 1 features 14 tracks by eight of its web site’s most popular artists and bands (five on active duty and three who are Veterans that served in Iraq, Kosovo and Vietnam). All of these artists performed live in the 2010 GI Jams’ Veterans Day Weekend Show at The Cannery Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

In recognition of its mission to support our active duty and Veteran musical military artists, Oscar B. Goodman, Mayor of Las Vegas, will officially proclaim May 20 as GI Jams Day as a tribute to the charity network and its artists, including those currently serving here at home and all over the world. Among the celebrations of GI Jams Day, Randell and Schippers, the project’s Co-directors, will be featured on KTNV-TV’s
The Morning Blend, along with GI Jams’ artists Joe Speed Band who will be giving a special live musical performance and footage from the music video by Adrian Manuel while flying his Blackhawk helicopter in Iraq.  Randell and Schippers will also be interviewed on popular radio station segment American Perspective. For airtimes, check local listings.
